Loss of Energy - Top reason and what to do

Posted by SUNSHINE Monday, March 3, 2008

1.) Poor diet - eat a balanced diet and take supplements for insurance
2.) Dehydration - drink losts of water each day
3.) Sleep - get plenty of sleep, even more than you think. For example, while you may be able to function with 5- 7 hours per night, your internal systems might need 8 or so hours to regenerate and produce the correct amount of hormones etc. needed for proper functioning of your body. Sleep deprivation can make you sluggish.
4.) Stress - excess stress can cause fatigue. It can also disrupt sleep thereby causing loss of energy during the day. These negative emotions, can also alter eating habits thereby affecting proper nutrients, interfere with the motivation to exercise, and distract from creative and focused thinking. Stress and pressure used to prepare humans for physical response. Nowadays that does not happen - we rarely have a need for physical activity in response to stress so ehe result is a physical toll on our system, which can contribute to fatigue. Heart rate and blood pressure go up. Muscles prepare for movement. Without physical action, the hormones don't have an outlet for release and end up harming our cardiovascular system and possibly compromising our immune system. Consider things like yoga and meditation.
5.) Exercise - if something is not used, it will rust. Even small things like a walk, stretching, or deep breaths can help. 20-30 minutes of exercise per day or so. Keep small exercise tools handy: Elastic bands, weighted wrist bands while walking or jogging. Regular exercise increases energy and reduces fatigue.
6.) Illness or medications can contribute to loss of energy.
--Obesity or being overweight
--Thyroid issues, ask your doctor for a thyroid test during your annual exam and blood test.
